Summary:

The Cancer Registrar is responsible for the procurement and timely submission of information regarding all patients diagnosed and treated for cancer at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center.

 

Qualifications:

·   Associates Degree preferred High school Diploma required.

·       Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) or certification eligible and certification achieved within 2 years of hire. 3-5 years' experience in registry reporting in an ACOS accredited program preferred.

·       Experience in abstracting staging (AJCC, SEER, FORDS).  

·       Strong knowledge of Certified Tumor Registrar requirements, methods, concepts and processes

·       Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint..

·       Must possess good verbal and written communication skills.

·       Must possess strong analytical and problem solving skills.

·       Must be proficient in Windows, have excellent database management skills and other computer skills including data entry, ACOS coding/abstracting. Strong written and oral communication skills with particular emphasis on presentation skills.  Strong customer service skills.

·       Must be comfortable interacting with employees, medical staff and customers.
